Soundraw is the best Loudly alternative for most brands and apps: it trains only on in-house music and sells a self-serve music API from $29.99 a month. ElevenLabs Music has the clearest commercial licence plus vocals and a Music API on paid plans. Mubert is the pick for apps that need streaming music, Soundful's Business License covers apps and API use, and AIVA hands you the copyright. Beatoven.ai closed its consumer service in August 2026 and now licenses its Maestro model to businesses only.
Loudly alternatives are worth a look if you need royalty-free AI music for a brand, an app or a client and Loudly’s licence, ownership terms or unpublished API price don’t fit. This guide ranks six of them on catalog, customization, API access and licensing.
We confirmed every tool was operating in October 2026 and read each licence and pricing page that month. Prices are US dollars unless the vendor only charges in euros, and we flag the one vendor that showed us regional prices.
Why people look for Loudly alternatives
Loudly is a Berlin-based AI music platform that generates royalty-free tracks up to 30 minutes long, with a creator app, a distribution service and a music generation API.
Loudly’s API page: generation, a ready-made catalog and stems, with pricing by quote.
The creator side is good value. On Loudly’s pricing page, Personal is $10/month ($96 billed yearly) and Pro is $30/month ($288 billed yearly), checked October 2026.
These limits are what send brands and developers looking:
- Loudly keeps the copyright. Its FAQ says it retains the copyright and grants you commercial rights, because AI music law is still unsettled.
- Ads need Pro, with a cap. Pro covers digital ads up to $100,000 in media spend, plus client work, apps and indie games. Film and TV need a separate licence.
- No reselling or sub-licensing. You can’t build a stock library or sub-license Loudly music, which rules out some platform models.
- The API price is a quote. The Loudly Music API page lists a 3,500-track catalog, stems and WAV output, but prices by company size and volume rather than a public rate card.
- Cancelling stops new use. Projects published while you subscribed stay covered, but you can’t use downloaded tracks in new work once the plan ends.
What to look for in a Loudly alternative
Judge each tool on where the music will end up, not just how it sounds.
| Criterion | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| API and price | If music sits inside your product, you need a documented API and a price you can model |
| Licence scope | Brand work means ads, apps, client projects and audience size. Check which plan covers each |
| Ownership | Most tools keep the copyright and license it to you. A few hand it over |
| Catalog vs generation | A ready-made library is faster to browse. Generation fits a brief exactly |
| Customization | Stems, length, tempo and section edits decide how close you get to the cut |
| Training data | Licensed or in-house training is easier to defend to a legal team |
1. Soundraw
Soundraw: in-house-trained instrumentals with a self-serve music API.
Soundraw is an AI music generator for creators, brands and developers, offering instrumental tracks trained only on in-house music, with unlimited downloads and a self-serve API from $29.99 a month.
Its Mixer is the strong part. You toggle instruments, change the intensity of each section, set the length and blend genres, and the track rebuilds on the spot.
For apps, the Soundraw API is the most open on this list. API Starter is $29.99/month for up to 100 songs, and API Pro is $300/month for up to 1,000 with a 6-month minimum.
Soundraw says Canva, Captions and Wondershare use it. Its API FAQ says the model is “trained by only licensed in-house material,” a cleaner answer than most generators give.
Pros
- Trained only on in-house music, per Soundraw
- Self-serve API with published prices, unlike Loudly
- Unlimited downloads on Creator and Artist Unlimited
- Section-level intensity and instrument controls
- Commercial use on every plan, including YouTube and client work
Cons
- Instrumentals only: no vocals or lyrics
- Self-serve plans are for individuals and companies under 10 employees. Larger brands need Enterprise
- Creator exports MP3 only. WAV and stems start on Artist Pro
- The licence bars registering tracks in Content ID
- Prices vary by region
Best for: Small brands, agencies and app teams that want licensed instrumentals and an API they can sign up for today.
Pricing: Creator from $5.99/month, Artist Starter from $10.49/month, Artist Pro from $12.59/month (WAV and stems) and Artist Unlimited from $17.49/month, all billed yearly. Monthly billing costs more, and prices vary by region. Enterprise is for companies with 10+ employees. Checked on soundraw.io/pricing, October 2026. API Starter was listed at $29.99/month and API Pro at $300/month. See our Soundraw alternatives if its licence doesn’t fit.
2. ElevenLabs Music
ElevenLabs Music: songs or instrumentals with a Music API on every paid plan.
ElevenLabs Music is an AI music generator for creators and developers, offering instrumentals or full songs from 3 seconds to 5 minutes, with commercial rights and a Music API from $6 a month.
It does what Loudly doesn’t: vocals. Music v2 and v2.5 write and sing lyrics in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and more, per the ElevenLabs Music docs.
The licence is the clearest of the generators. The docs say tracks are “cleared for nearly all commercial uses,” and self-serve plans cover online and offline commercial use except film, TV and studio games.
For developers, the Music API is available to paid subscribers. Music costs about 900 credits a minute, so Starter’s 30,000 credits cover roughly 33 minutes a month.
Pros
- Vocals and lyrics in several languages, which Loudly doesn’t offer
- Music API on every paid plan, from $6
- Clear commercial-use statement in the docs
- Stems: 2 and 4 on Starter and Creator, up to 6 on Pro
- Voice, dubbing and sound effects on the same bill
Cons
- No library to browse: every track is generated
- Free plan is personal use only
- Starter allows no streaming release. Spotify and Apple release starts on Creator
- Film, TV and studio games need Enterprise
- Credits are shared with every other ElevenLabs product
Best for: Developers and brand teams who want songs or instrumentals with a plain commercial licence and an API.
Pricing: Free (about 11 minutes of music a month, personal use). Starter $6/month, Creator $22/month, Pro $99/month (elevenlabs.io/pricing, checked October 2026). For voice tools beyond music, see our ElevenLabs alternatives.
3. Mubert
Mubert: generated tracks, streaming minutes and a curated library for apps.
Mubert is an AI music platform for creators and app developers, offering tracks up to 25 minutes, live music streams and a Music API from $49 a month on sale.
It’s the closest match to Loudly’s API. The Mubert API sells generations and streaming minutes together, and Startup adds a 12,000+ track curated library and webhooks.
Startup+ is the only plan on this list that lets you sub-license tracks to your users, which Loudly forbids. No API plan allows distribution.
On the creator side, Mubert Render gives 500 tracks a month up to 25 minutes, with WAV and stems from Creator up.
Pros
- Streaming minutes for endless in-app music
- Sub-licensing on Startup+
- 12,000+ curated library from the Startup API plan
- Tracks up to 25 minutes on Render
- Full Track Editor on Pro and Business
Cons
- Tracks can’t be registered in Content ID or released on Spotify, Apple Music and similar platforms, on any plan
- Creator is non-commercial. Monetized use starts at Pro
- API Trial excludes monetized content
- After you cancel, tracks can’t go into new projects
- Payments are non-refundable
Best for: Apps, games and platforms that need streaming background music or the right to sub-license it.
Pricing: Render: Free (5 downloads a month). Creator $14/month, Pro $39/month, Business $199/month, or $11.69, $32.49 and $149.29 billed yearly. API: Trial $49/month, Startup $199/month, Startup+ $499/month, at sale prices down from $99, $249 and $999 (checked October 2026). Our Mubert alternatives guide covers the rest of its field.
4. Soundful
Soundful: template-driven tracks with a Business License that covers apps and API use.
Soundful is an AI music generator for creators and businesses, offering 150+ styles, stem packs and a Business License for apps, ads and API use from $49.99 a month.
It’s built around style templates. You pick one and generate as many variations as you like, since every plan has unlimited generations.
The licence grid is the reason brands look. Soundful’s licence page shows the Business License covering film, TV, advertising, apps and games, audiences over 100,000 a month, and API access. The Music Creator License on Plus and Pro covers none of those.
Pros
- Clear licence grid by use case and audience size
- Business License covers apps, ads, film and TV
- Unlimited generations on every plan
- Stem packs from Pro, 35 a month on Business
- Low entry price for creators
Cons
- No public API docs or API price: you arrange access through the Business or Enterprise tier
- Plus and Pro exclude apps, ads and audiences over 100,000 a month
- Business is for companies under $1M revenue. Larger firms need Enterprise
- Free plan needs credit to Soundful and allows 1 MP3 a month
- Per-user pricing adds up for teams
Best for: Small brands and studios that need a written licence for apps, ads and big audiences without an enterprise contract.
Pricing: Free (1 MP3 a month). Plus $9.99 per user/month for 100 downloads, Pro $14.99 per user/month for 400 downloads, Business from $49.99 per user/month for 750 downloads, Enterprise custom (soundful.com/pricing, checked October 2026).
5. AIVA
AIVA: composition-first AI music where Pro hands you the copyright.
AIVA is an AI music composition assistant, offering 250+ styles, MIDI editing and full copyright ownership on its Pro plan, priced in euros from €15 a month.
Ownership is the whole case. Loudly keeps the copyright on every plan, while AIVA Pro says “Copyright owned by YOU,” with no limits on monetization.
It suits scoring more than beat-making. You can upload an audio or MIDI influence, train your own style models and edit the result in its editor.
Pros
- You own the copyright on Pro
- MIDI downloads on every plan, for finishing in a DAW
- 250+ styles, plus custom style models
- Audio or MIDI influence uploads
Cons
- No API, so it can’t sit inside your app
- Prices are in euros plus VAT, with no US-dollar price
- Standard keeps the copyright with AIVA and limits monetization to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram
- Track length tops out at 5 min 30 s on Pro
Best for: Brands, filmmakers and game studios that need to own the composition outright.
Pricing: Free with 3 downloads a month and credit to AIVA. Standard €15/month (€11/month billed yearly), Pro €49/month (€33/month billed yearly), plus VAT (aiva.ai/pricing, checked October 2026). More composition tools are in our AIVA alternatives.
6. Beatoven.ai (Maestro, for businesses)
Beatoven.ai: the Maestro model, now licensed to businesses rather than sold to creators.
Beatoven.ai is no longer a consumer music app. It now licenses its Maestro model, trained on licensed music, to businesses that want background music or sound effects inside their own product.
The consumer service closed in August 2026, after about six years, and RouteNote reported on September 28 that the core team joined Rusk Media. Beatoven Private Limited kept Maestro and its Music Intelligence technology, and the beatoven.ai pricing page returned a 404 in October 2026.
Maestro still matters if you’re API-minded. Beatoven says it was trained on over 3 million ethically sourced music and sound effect tracks and carries Fairly Trained certification, and fal.ai’s launch post describes instrumentals up to 2 minutes 30 seconds, sound effects up to 35 seconds and isolated stems.
Self-serve access looks shut. The API page still offers a key, but its dashboard link didn’t resolve and fal.ai’s Maestro model page returned a 404 when we checked, so plan on a licensing conversation.
Pros
- Trained on licensed music, with Fairly Trained certification per Beatoven
- Music and sound effects from one model family
- Isolated instrument stems
- A fit for media companies, games and creator platforms that want to license a model
Cons
- No consumer plan or pricing page since August 2026
- Self-serve API sign-up wasn’t working in October 2026
- No public price: licensing is by contact
- Instrumentals only, up to 2 min 30 s per track
- Its future roadmap is unclear after the team moved to Rusk Media
Best for: Companies that want to license a fairly trained music model, not creators who need tracks today.
Pricing: Not published. Contact Beatoven through beatoven.ai/contact (checked October 2026). Former users will find replacements in our Beatoven.ai alternatives.

How to choose the right Loudly alternative
You’re building an app and want to start this week. Pick Soundraw for the cheapest published API, or ElevenLabs Music if your users need vocals.
Your app streams music or resells it. Pick Mubert. Startup adds the curated library, and Startup+ adds sub-licensing.
Your legal team wants a written licence for ads and apps. Pick Soundful Business or ElevenLabs Music, and match the plan to your audience size.
You need to own the track. Pick AIVA Pro, the only option here that transfers the copyright.
You want to license a model, not tracks. Talk to Beatoven.ai about Maestro.
If you just need a background track sized to a video you’re editing, Vidwip AI Music composes one from 10 seconds to 3 minutes on the editing timeline, but it has no API or catalog and publishes no music licence, so it isn’t ranked here. For songs with vocals, our Suno alternatives ranking goes deeper.
The verdict
Loudly is still a strong creator tool, but brands and developers hit three walls: Loudly keeps the copyright, ads stop at $100,000 in spend, and the API is priced by quote.
Soundraw is the best all-round replacement, with in-house training and an API you can buy today. ElevenLabs Music wins on licence clarity and vocals, Mubert on streaming and sub-licensing, and AIVA on ownership.
Check the licence tier against your audience and placement before you ship. That’s where most of these tools differ, not in how the music sounds.
