The xAI API and fal.ai are the cheapest Grok Imagine 1.5 providers we could confirm: $0.14 a second for the full model and $0.03 for 1.5 Lite at 720p. Krea shows about $0.06 a second at 480p on a yearly plan. Vidwip is dearer per second ($0.174 to $0.220 for full, $0.040 to $0.050 for Lite) and is the only one here with 16 video models and an editing timeline in one place.
The cheapest Grok Imagine 1.5 provider is the model’s own API, with fal.ai at the same price. Both charge $0.14 a second for Grok Imagine 1.5 and $0.03 for 1.5 Lite at 720p.
We checked each price in November 2026 and quote US dollars. We did not generate clips for this post, so it is a price comparison, not a quality test. For the model itself, read our Grok Imagine 1.5 review.
TL;DR: cheapest Grok Imagine 1.5 provider by tier
The xAI API and fal.ai are cheapest for both tiers at 720p. Prices are per second of video with sound.
| Tier | Cheapest we confirmed | Vidwip | Not re-confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grok Imagine 1.5 Lite | xAI API, fal.ai: $0.03 | $0.040 to $0.050 (5 credits a second) | Higgsfield: $0.031 to $0.048 |
| Grok Imagine 1.5 | xAI API, fal.ai: $0.14 | $0.174 to $0.220 (22 credits a second) | Higgsfield $0.138 to $0.217, Invideo $0.090 to $0.318, Magnific $0.280 |
Lite is only sold by a few providers. We found it on the xAI API, fal.ai, Vidwip and, on October 30, Higgsfield.
How we computed price per second
We use each vendor’s own per-second price where one exists, and plan price divided by video count where it does not. Every figure is per second of output.
- API list prices (xAI, fal.ai): read straight off the model pages.
- Subscriptions (Krea): plan price ÷ the number of 1-second 480p videos the page says it buys.
- Vidwip: credits a second × $0.0079 (Pro annual, $79 a month for 10,000 credits) up to $0.01 (Starter monthly, $25 for 2,500).
Resolution and sound change the price, so each row says which one applies. Promos and regional prices vary.

1. xAI API: $0.03 and $0.14, straight from the maker
The Grok Imagine Video 1.5 Lite model page in the xAI docs, checked November 6, 2026
The xAI API bills Grok Imagine 1.5 at $0.08 a second at 480p, $0.14 at 720p and $0.25 at 1080p. The Lite model page lists $0.02 at 480p, $0.03 at 720p and $0.14 at 1080p.
Watch the headline. Each model page leads with its 480p rate ($0.08 and $0.02), so the cheaper-looking number is not what most people pay at 720p. Lite’s 1080p is also an upscaled 720p render, per xAI’s docs.
The docs say Lite does text and image to video with lip-synced speech at the lowest price per second. The full model adds up to 14 reference images, 3 preset voices and pinned frames.
You call it from code with an API key. There is no editor.
Best for: developers who want the lowest list price and will build their own pipeline.
The grok-imagine-video-1.5 model page; we re-read the same prices on November 6, 2026
2. fal.ai: the same prices, a different bill
fal.ai matches xAI to the cent. Its Grok Imagine 1.5 page lists $0.08 at 480p, $0.14 at 720p and $0.25 at 1080p, with each reference image adding $0.01. Its Lite page lists $0.02, $0.03 and $0.14.
There is no saving over xAI. The reason to pick fal.ai is a single account and API for many models, not price.
Best for: teams already calling other models through fal.ai.
3. Krea: lowest on paper, but 480p and 1-second clips
Krea’s plans, checked in November 2026
Krea gives video counts, not per-second prices. For Grok Imagine 1.5 at 480p it lists about 84 one-second videos on Basic, 337 on Pro and 675 on Max.
Basic is $9 a month, or $5 billed yearly. That works out to about $0.107 a second monthly and $0.060 yearly. Pro is $35, or $21 yearly, which is about $0.104 and $0.062.
Those are our figures from rounded counts. They are 480p, and Krea lists no 720p count or Lite model for Grok. It also does not say whether the clips have sound, so do not set them next to a 720p price with sound.
Best for: quick 480p tests if you already pay for Krea.
4. Vidwip: dearer per second, more in one place
Vidwip’s AI Video Generator is not the cheapest Grok Imagine 1.5 provider, and the table shows it. It runs Grok Imagine 1.5 at 22 credits a second and 1.5 Lite at 5, both 1 to 15 seconds at 720p with sound.
| Model | Credits/s | Starter ($0.01 a credit) | Pro annual ($0.0079) | 10-second clip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grok Imagine 1.5 Lite | 5 | $0.050 | $0.040 | $0.40 to $0.50 |
| Grok Imagine 1.5 | 22 | $0.220 | $0.174 | $1.74 to $2.20 |
Lite is still the cheapest shot in Vidwip’s 16-model lineup. For a fuller view of how the lineup compares, see the models page.
What the premium buys: Grok Imagine and 14 other video models on one credit balance, and shots that land on an editing timeline. Plans start at $25 a month, and Starter’s 2,500 credits cover 500 seconds of Lite. See pricing.
If you only generate Grok clips in bulk, use the xAI API or fal.ai. If you also use Seedance, Kling or Veo, compare Vidwip against Seedance 2.5 prices and Kling 3.0 prices.
Higgsfield, Invideo and Magnific: not re-confirmed
Our October 30 reading listed Grok Imagine 1.5 Lite at $0.031 to $0.048 a second on Higgsfield, and the full model at $0.138 to $0.217. Higgsfield’s pricing page returned only images to us in November, so those figures are listed, not confirmed. They are shown as best-value plan to cheapest monthly plan.
Invideo showed the full model at $0.090 to $0.318 a second on October 30, and no Lite. Its current page lists plans (Basic $9, Pro $30, Ultra $80 monthly) but no Grok model, so we could not confirm either range.
Magnific showed about $0.280 a second on October 30. Its current page shows Grok only as an image model, so we left that price unconfirmed.
If Higgsfield’s Lite range holds, it would tie or slightly beat Vidwip on Lite, and the xAI API would still be cheaper at the low end.
The Grok app and SuperGrok
Grok Imagine also runs inside the Grok app, which is a subscription with no per-second price, so it cannot be ranked here. xAI’s plan page returned an error for us, and third-party guides disagree on prices and video caps. Check grok.com before you subscribe.
How to choose
- Cheapest per second: the xAI API or fal.ai, at $0.03 for Lite and $0.14 for full at 720p.
- Drafts you will throw away: Lite on the API, or Krea at 480p.
- Many models, one bill, an editor: Vidwip, at a premium.
- A different model altogether: see our open-source video model guide, Hailuo 3 review and Veo 3.1 prices.
Conclusion
The xAI API and fal.ai are the cheapest Grok Imagine 1.5 providers we could confirm, at $0.14 a second for the full model and $0.03 for Lite. Krea looks cheaper only because it prices 480p.
Vidwip sits at a higher price per second for both tiers, and we say so. We will update this post when Higgsfield, Invideo or Magnific let us re-confirm their numbers.
